Vacancy: Community Engagement Coordinator
Air Cargo Belgium (ACB) is the official representative of the air cargo community at Brussels Airport Cargo. With 170 member companies, we bring together airlines, handlers, forwarders, the airport authority and other stakeholders. We connect, inspire, and strengthen the Belgian air cargo community through events, projects and communication.
Every year we organize events that range from content-driven seminars with 200 participants, to a summer BBQ for 800–1000 guests, a spectacular warehouse party with 1000 visitors, and sports initiatives like the Cargo Cup. With our new strategy, we aim to grow from 2,500 yearly event visitors to over 7,000 in the coming years. To make this happen, we’re looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team.
Your Role:
As our new Community Engagement Coordinator, you will work closely with the Community Engagement team and the wider ACB staff (12 colleagues in total). Your responsibilities will cover three main areas:
1. Events & Community Building
- Plan, coordinate and execute events from A to Z — from logistics and promotion to on-site follow-up.
- Support and represent ACB at fairs, workshops and networking occasions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our member companies, acting as a central point of contact.
- Actively contribute to growing our membership base and attracting sponsors.
2. Communication & Content
- Take full ownership of ACB’s social media channels: planning, copywriting, content creation (Canva), scheduling, and reporting.
- Write clear, engaging texts for newsletters, our magazine, websites and online updates — always in English (our external communication language).
- Curate and highlight community success stories, project updates and industry news, often in close collaboration with Brussels Airport Company.
3. Engagement Strategy & Impact
- Help shape and implement ACB’s community engagement strategy.
- Gather feedback from members and translate this into concrete recommendations.
- Track and analyze engagement results to measure impact and improve our approach.
- Identify partnerships and opportunities to further strengthen and promote the cargo community.
What we offer:
- A full-time, permanent contract with start date to be agreed (preferably as soon as possible).
- Hybrid working: after 6 months, 2 days per week work-from-home possible.
- A flat organizational structure with a young, dynamic team of 12 people.
- A fun and engaging work environment with plenty of variety — no two days are the same!
- Strong team culture: yearly 3-day teambuilding plus smaller activities throughout the year.
- Opportunities to travel for events and fairs.
- Training opportunities: including a basic IATA course with certification.
- A wide range of benefits: laptop, mobile phone, meal- and eco-vouchers, flexible working hours.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Event Management or Marketing (or similar).
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English (all external communication).
- Good knowledge of Dutch (our internal team language); French is a plus but not required.
- Hands-on experience with Canva (mandatory).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Open to learning about aviation and connecting with major players in the industry.
- A standard desk job isn’t enough for you — you love variety, dynamism and people contact.
