To strengthen our operational expertise, we’re looking for a driven Senior Project Manager. Are you an expert in cargo operations and project management with a passion for turning strategic goals into operation-focused projects? In this role, you will lead high-impact projects that improve the day-to-day operations at BRUcargo. With your deep knowledge of the cargo daily grind, your strategic insight, and your leadership skills, you’ll help shape the future of one of Europe’s most dynamic cargo communities.
As Senior Project Manager you are responsible for different kinds of projects (digitization, security, customs, …), from the early ideas to the final content and financial reporting. Together with a team of young professionals and a wide range of stakeholders, you will ensure that projects deliver meaningful improvements to the daily operations of our members and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage strategically important projects with a direct operational impact
- Identify pain points and bottlenecks in the day-to-day operations and translate them into well scoped, realistic and result-driven improvement projects
- Develop a strategic vision and plan for the (sub-)categories in your scope (incl. but not limited to operational excellence, safety, security, trucking, international collaboration, etc.)
- Align and collaborate with handlers, airlines, forwarders, trucking companies and the airport authority to co-create solutions and implement them in a structured way.
- Leverage your extensive experience in airport operations to provide expert insights and guide best practices.
- Develop project roadmaps, monitor progress, manage risks and ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Act as a mentor and motivator for project teams by sharing your operational experience and project management expertise
- Report to the Board of Directors on project progress and contribute to the broader strategic roadmap for operational improvement at BRUcargo.
- Explore relevant public and private funding opportunities to support innovation in cargo operations.
- Ensure sound administrative and financial follow-up of your projects from start to finish.
- Discover new business areas interesting for ACB to focus on.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate:
- Has 10+ years of proven experience in airport operations, ideally in cargo and logistics.
- Brings strong project management expertise
- Is a strategic thinker and translates vision into action
- Has excellent people management skills and can inspire teams across different domains.
- Understands the dynamics of a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment and thrives in it.
- Is motivated to drive transformation in a dynamic environment.
- Takes ownership and can autonomously drive initiatives.
- Has a collaborative and goal-oriented mind-set. Is experienced in leading operational improvement projects in an aviation/air cargo environment
- Embraces change management & has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has a master’s degree or equivalent through experience.
- Speaks fluent Dutch and English.
